SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Fleece in coordinating colors
  • Fabri-Tac adhesive
  • Scissors
  • Rotary cutter & decorative blades
  • Rotary cutting mat & ruler
  • Thread
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Sewing machine

DIRECTIONS:

TWO-COLOR SCALLOPED EDGE TRIM:

  1. Cut fleece strip 1" x WOF (width of fabric) using using the rotary cutter a scalloped-edge blade.
  2. From coordinating fleece, cut strip 2" x length.
  3. Sew a decorative stitch using coordinating thread on narrow strip. Glue decorated strip to wider strip or sew the strips together using a decorative stitch.
  4. HINT: Cut strips a little wider than needed and trim after stitching for a uniform look.

TWO-COLOR CURLY-LOOPED FRINGE:

  1. Cut two 6" strips from coordinating color parallel to the selvage. Piece as needed to obtain length necessary.
  2. Layer strips & fold in half. Stitch 1/2" from edge. Stitch 1/4" from1st row of stitching. Trim seam allowance with rotary cutter and scalloped or pinking blade.
  3. Cut fringe every 1/4" up to stitching. Pull fringe gently to curl loops.
  4. WOVEN RIBBON TRIM:
  5. Cut strip 3" wide x WOF using rotary cutter with decorative blade if desired. Refer to photo. Cut 1" slits one inch apart in center of strip.
  6. Cut two 1/2" strips of coordinating fleece. Alternately weave strips through slits. Secure ends.

SINGLE-COLOR LOOPED FRINGE:

  1. Cut a 6" strip parallel to the selvage. Piece as needed to obtain length necessary for project.
  2. Fold strip in half. Stitch 1/2" from edge. Stitch 1/4" from1st row of stitching. Trim seam allowance with rotary cutter and scalloped-edge or pinking blade.
  3. Cut fringe every 1/4" up to stitching.

GATHERED STRIP:

  1. Cut strip 2"x2 times length needed. Sew a long running stitch down center of length of strip. Pull thread to loosely gather. Secure ends and set aside.
  2. Stitch down center. Trim long edges using rotary cutter.

BASIC FRINGED EDGE:

  1. Cut fleece strip 3-1/2" x length, crosswise from selvage to selvage. If necessary, piece and seam the strip.
  2. Stitch along 1 long edge with 5/8" seam allowance. Stitch 1/4" from first row of stitching.
  3. Cut fringe every 1/4" up to the stitching with scissors or rotary cutter & ruler. Do not cut through the stitching.

WOVEN TRIM:

  1. Cut strip 3" wide x WOF using rotary cutter with decorative blade if desired. Cut 2" slits every 1/4" in center of strip to within 1/2" of top and bottom.
  2. Cut six 1/4" strips of coordinating fleece. Alternately weave strips through slits. Secure ends.
