Description

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Multiple colors of felt
  • Hot glue gun & glue sticks
  • Ruler
  • Thread
  • Stuffing
  • Template (provided)

DIRECTIONS:

    For Sucker:
  1. Cut 3- 1" x 12" strips out of desired felt.
  2. Attach long edges together, creating a 2-1/2" x 12" strip. These may be glued or sewn together.
  3. Twist and roll around itself, gluing as it is rolled.
  4. Finishing by flattening last 1/2" and gluing down. This is the bottom.
  5. Cut 1- 3" x 4" rectangle out of white felt.
  6. Glue 1/4" fold along long edge; roll the rest of the width around and glue edge.
  7. Glue to bottom of sucker.
  8. Repeat above steps with longer strips to create a larger sucker.

    For stick candy:
  1. Cut 1- 3" x 6" piece of white felt.
  2. Glue 1/4" fold along long edge; roll the rest of the width around and glue edge.
  3. Cut a 1/4" strip of colored felt.
  4. Cut one edge at a 45-degree angle, attach it to the seam of white felt and wrap strip around the stick.
  5. Trim and attach end.
  6. Repeat above steps in different lengths and colors to create variety.

    For candy pieces:
  1. Cut 1- 3" square out of felt.
  2. Create a tube by gluing two opposite edges together.
  3. Wrap thread 1/2" from open end of tube and secure; stuff.
  4. Wrap thread 1/2" from other open end of tube and secure.
  5. Fluff open ends.
  6. Cut fruit shapes and glue to front of candy (optional).

    For small chocolate bar:
  1. Cut 2- 4" x 3" squares out of brown felt.
  2. Sew together with a 1/4" seam allowance, leaving a 1" opening on one edge; stuff loosely; sew opening shut.
  3. Distribute stuffing evenly.
  4. Stitch down the middle of width and length starting at seam allowance.

    For large chocolate bar:
  1. Cut 2- 12" x 6" squares out of brown felt.
  2. Sew together with a 1/4" seam allowance, leaving a 1" opening on one edge.
  3. Mark every 1-1/2" along 6" width and every 2" along 12" width.
  4. Stuff loosely; sew opening shut.
  5. Distribute stuffing evenly.
  6. Stitch at each marking creating a grid of 1-1/2" x 2" rectangles.
  7. Repeat above steps with varying measurements, ex: 6" x 3", 14" x 9", etc. As long as the are in increments of 3" and 2".

    For bag candy:
  1. Cut 1- 6" x 12" rectangle.
  2. Glue shorter edges together creating a tube.
  3. Stitch 1/2" from one open edge; stuff.
  4. Stitch 1/2" from other open edge.
  5. Cut notches out of open edges to create a zigzag effect on edges.
  6. Cut various candy shapes out of different colors of felt and glue to front.

    For candy corn:
  1. To print the template, click on the "Download Project PDF" button (above). Cut template as directed.
  2. Sew short edge of yellow piece to long edge of orange piece.
  3. Sew short edge of orange piece to edge of white piece, creating a triangle.
  4. Repeat b and c with other pieces.
  5. Stitch right sides of created triangles together, leaving a 1" opening.
  6. Stuff and stitch opening closed.
