Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my texture tool I love my texture tool and texture plates. I find it much easier to use that just a stylus. I have found that you can press hard and have a sore hand or take a few minutes more and not use as much pressure. Wax paper works great. I've never tried water but sounds like something I'd like to try. I use a circular pattern while holding the tool straight up and down. I found some great advice on using the tool at If you have a lot of lines showing, are you remembering to work on the back side of your paper?

Rated 0 out of 5 by from I agree with Angie. It's unbelievably hard to make it work well. It leaves traces on the paper you're working with, even if it's a back side - if I'm maiking a card - should I hide it??? that's not what i like.. And you finish with sticking to only one "bulb" to trace the shapes. If you try texturizing moving this thing back and forth in all directions - your texture will be dull and incomplete, or you'll spend hours to cover all the space... I would recomnd to use a single embossing tool - the one which looks like a pen and has only one sphere. Before buying that single tool i had to use the head of a pin. By the way, it doesn't work with vellum at all! You see the traces-scratches through and the texture is absolutely not recognized

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can't get it to work well I have this tool and a few of the plates. I have to try it with wax paper I guess but so far the embossed image hardly shows, instead I get a ton of lines that the tool puts in my paper. If anyone has any idea of what I might be doing wrong, feel free to respond to this! :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I don't know what all the complaining's about Obviously, it's not as easy as the cuttlebug, but for a little hand-held device, it works excellently! It works great on Stampin' Up and cardstockish paper. If you have bad hands, spend the $45(sale price)-to $300. But for $4.00, this tool is a great deal!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hard to use I thought the idea of the texture plates was neat, and bought 4 before I could even find this tool. When I finally did find it, I found it really hard to use, and I even used wax paper on the back of the paper first. I was disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tough on the hand! I bought this little tool to use with the Textured Plates, and boy is it hard. By the time i'm done doing my project, my hand literally hurts. Using the wax paper is a good idea because sometimes the tool doesn't glide like it should.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from SPRITZ PAPER WITH WATER FIRST!!! I found this tool hard to use at first until I spritzed the back of my paper/cardstock (the side you'll be using the toll on) with water first. Just a light covering. If you rub with wax paper first, even better. Hope this helps!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from takes work! I bought this tool to save hand cramping when embossing with a stylus. Doesn't save the work! Hard, hard, hard on the hands! It still has it's applications, but not as good as I thought it would be.
