I am new to sewing and I love these scissors. My mom bought them for me as a gift with a sewing machine. They seem kinda heavy at first but are so nice to cut fabric. I would gift these to anyone starting to sew or quilt. Very nice.
Five years ago I was 'talked into' buying a pair of these scissors and they are the BEST pair to own for cutting through ANY material thickness. Don't hesitate - buy a pair today! For the lady who has the stuck safety lever, using a drop of sewing machine oil should eliminate the problem - be sure to wipe any excess oil as not to damage your material.
I had a a previous pair of there scissors for over 20 years and loved them. I recently bought another pair, but the spring on the new pair is too firm and I have to squeeze the scissors handles with a lot of effort Good item for muscle workout, but not for easy cutting of fabric. I hope the manufactures look into this problem.
These are great! I've purchased so many pairs of sissors over the years and none can compare. Not only are the sharp and cut great, they are comfortable for my hands. What a difference!
I love these scissors! That's all that needs to be said! The handles are comfortable and they cut really well, too. If you are finding that your scissors aren't opening up on their own like their supposed to, take a tiny (and I mean tiny) bit of WD-40 and dab it close to the bolt and then open and close the scissors repeatedly until they loosen up. Then, of course, ensure that there isn't any excess WD-40 before using them. I have done this to this pair and as well as the Fiskars Softouch Rag Quilt Snips (same design but for a different purpose) and they work like a dream for months and months of constant use after that.
I LOVE these scissors! I am left handed and sew for a living and I couldn't do it with comfort without these scissors. Growing up, I always had to use right handed scissors (in a right handed family), so I am used to the right blade cutting down and my thumb going numb. In left handed scissors, the blade is reversed as well as the handle, which feels most awkward to me and are still not all that comfortable. These scissors are perfect for that reason alone, but I also have no more pain in my thumb, which is a blessing as well.
I have three pairs because I just like my tools to be always sharp and give me a clean cut. My only problem is that I cannot get them sharpened now that two of them are not cutting for whatever reason. But I love them.
These are the only scissors I use when cutting out patterns. With all other regular shaped scissors, even Fiskars, I loose the skin on my thumb and first finger by the time the pattern is cut. These stay sharp amd are comfortable to use.
