i put the batteries in as per instructions. does not work. i no longer have my receipt from jo ann i am going to try to contact the dritz company directly for a refund.

Buy at your own risk
I brought this light at a Joann's Fabric Store. Save your money. It isn't worth it. It won't stay attached to the sewing machine. After a couple of days, the light went dim. I tried using super glue and gorilla glue. It will not stay. It keeps falling off of the machine. I ended up throwing it in the trash can. It's worthless.

Defective
I just unpackaged the product and installed new batteries as stated in the directions and the light doesn't turn on.
I tried another set of new batteries and product still doesn't work.
Not only that the battery compartment is god awful, the slide closure is poorly designed and absurdly finicky. Why the company would put a slide closure instead of a hinged closure is beyond me.
Do yourself a favor and don't buy this crap.

Very Versatile LED Light!
This LED light is so incredibly versatile! I recently had a number of small throw pillows to do hand-sewing on; I was able to place the light in the chair next to me so it'd shine on exactly the right place. So you don't have to attach it to your machine!

Don't buy!
Just bought the Dritz flexable LED Light for my sewing machine 3 days ago. Wish I read the reviews first! When I finally got the 'almost impossible to open' battery door off & turned it on, I was extremely dissappointed. What a lousy lite! I get better light from my discount tool freeby light! What a frustration! It's going back ASAP!

HAD TO RETURN
I bought this from Joann's about a month ago. At the end of the light, there is a sticky adhesive that you can attach to the side of your sewing machine. After the second day of being attached, it fell off. I wasn't even using my machine! I reattached it, it fell off again the same day. I tried using it without having it attached, and it doesn't work that way very well as it kept falling over. I took it back to Joann's for a refund.
