Terrible item
Had less then a year only used several times and it completely stopped working. Not worth the money glad I had a 50% off coupon and that was still to much to pay

Definitely not a good product
I bought one of these a month and a half ago. After about 10 minutes of use the metal wand fell out from overheating and was unable to be used. I returned it for a replacement, figuring it was just a defective one and the second one would be a charm. I've got the second one plugged in now and it will not heat up. Now I have no packaging for it and no receipt for it. I guess I'm done trying with this piece of junk. Will have to try another brand

First use and it broke
I was cutting a small styrofoam ball and half way through the process it broke. Do not recommend a waste of time and money. I bought online and pick-up in store and saw it was used but they had no more to exchange so I said i will try but when I finally try to used it broke. Not a good product.

Poor construction
I cut foam in at a florist shop for years with hot wire cutter, this is not a quality cutter at all. In less than 15 minutes the heater/cutter broke. I was letting the cutter do the work and still this happened.

Excellent
I've made some pretty amazing Halloween costumes over the years but my weapons of choice were duct tape and glue guns, and felt, paper mache, sponge foam. I saw some bad reviews and with apprehension, bought this.
Seriously, this thing is amazing! It melts right through the foam like a hot knife slicing butter and heats up in less than a minute. I bought big, cheap sheets of foam (for insulation) from a chain store that sells DIY supplies to create a Halloween costume. Be aware, it won't cut foam boards (the poster boards with paper on the outside, foam on the inside) because it can't melt the paper - use an razor blade and metal ruler for those.

Terrible product, might as well use a butter knife
This cutter does not heat up well, is not strong enough to cut through dense foam, and snapped inside of 15 minutes of use. The design is shoddy, not made for people with larger hands, and the cord is far too short.
