Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works sometimes I am back and forth with this wax. First time I used it it gummed up and removed some of the chalk paint so I didn’t think I’d try it again but after running out of my expensive one I had to try it again and that time it worked amazingly well. Better than my expensive one too. Well I go to use it for a new project, i did it the same exact same way and it gummed up and removed paint again. I had let my piece dry for 24 hours but now I’m thinking the piece it did so great on had dried for a couple days and maybe that made all the difference. I’ll test this theory on a small piece & come back and edit if that’s the problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I use Folk Art clear wax and sometimes white wax (after clear wax dries) and it is so easy to apply and always turns out fantastic. I use it on chalk painted furniture and it really enhances the color of the paint. I'm surprised people say it has a yellow tint because it doesn't. They may not be applying it correctly. Clear wax should always be applied first and dry for 24 hours before the white wax is applied. I have pieces years old that haven't yellowed at all.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Has a yellowish tint to it. Not really white. Bought this wax today from Joanne Fabric. I never used wax over my projects before. It went on fine but it has a yellowish tint to it. I will be returning it tomorrow. Not happy with it because of that.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from SO BAD -- ruined my project Read a few review about how this "gummed up" the paint and IT IS ALL TRUE. Painted a chair and followed the direction to a T. Applied the wax, waited 24 hours and it turned everything to a gluey, gummy mess. I could literally wipe of coats of paint with my fingernail. The reaction also made the oak wood underneath look like I had soaked it in water. This was SOLID OAK. So disappointed. Now we are going to try to sand this thing down to the bare wood and start over. Disgusted at how much I spent on paint, brushes and wax.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very yellow over white Product had a very yellow tint to it. It had been open before I purchased it online. I did not use for the project I purchased it for because I used white chalk paint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So easy to whitewash! We have several beautiful oak pieces of furniture in our home. They were finished in the 80’s and 90’s with the classic golden oak stain that very much dates the pieces and our home. We decided to give the shelves, wardrobe, quilt rack, etc, a white wash look and chose this product to do so. It was so easy! We simply wiped on with a rag or brush, wiping off excess as we worked, let it sit overnight and lightly buffed the next day. There was no odor and we were very pleased that the gold color was blocked but we could still see the beautiful oak grain. After a couple days the coating was set (no tackiness) and we were able to hang/use each lovely refinished piece

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wax for jars! Used the wax on Mason jars for a baby shower. Added some shine to the acrylic paint. But I thought this would help protect the paint from coming off but it doesn’t. Just adds a nice shine to the acrylic paint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the texture! Love how easy it is to use and very forgiving. I used it on my dining table after applying white chalk paint. Gave it a rustic old world style. And no sanding needed!
