DIRECTIONS:

FOLKART HD VISUAL TEXTURE PAINT: FolkArt HD paint is a thick formula that becomes highly visual when brushed out, reflecting light and drying to a highly defined, semi-gloss finish. The result is a beautiful work of art with the textured appeal of a fine oil canvas painting. It is a water-based, non-toxic acrylic paint.

SURFACES THAT CAN BE USED WITH FOLKART HD PAINT:

  • Canvas: Use gesso-primed canvas or apply gesso to an unprimed canvas
  • Wood: Sand and seal before painting
  • Tin or Metal: Wash to remove dirt and wipe with alcohol to remove any trace of oil
  • Paper Mache: No preparation needed

MIXING FOLKART HD PAINT COLORS: Individual colors of FolkArt HD paint may be used separately, mixed on the palette, or brush-mixed on the project to create different values of color. FolkArt HD paints blend well when wet to create many tonal effects and textures.

THE BEST TOOLS FOR APPLYING FOLKART HD PAINT TO PROJECT SURFACES: Sponges, brushes, and painting knifes are most commonly used. Also, stencils can be used to create a specific design element. All tools should be cleaned immediately after use.

LEANING THE BRUSHES, TOOLS AND PRACTICE SLEEVE IN THE LEARN-TO-PAINT PACKS: FolkArt HD is a water-based paint, so clean-up is easy with soap and water while paint is still wet. It is recommended to rinse and wash brushes regularly while painting to minimize paint build-up at the base of the bristles.

ALLOWING FOLKART HD PAINT TO DRY: FolkArt HD paint dries to a semi-gloss sheen in 24 hours and cures within 4 days. Projects may still feel a little tacky to the touch even after 4 days, depending on the environment and weather conditions. After curing, there is no need to seal the artwork.
