Description

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1/3 yd. of food safe fabric
  • 1 yd. 5/8" decorative ribbon
  • 1 pkg. Soft & Flexible Velcro®
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Sewing machine

DIRECTIONS:

RS = Right sides. WS = Wrong sides
Snack bag, sandwich bag sizes in parenthesis
Cutting:
Food safe laminated fabric – 9-1/2"x7", (15-1/2"x7-1/2")
Velcro® - 6", (6")
Ribbon – 15", (15-1/2")
Assembly:
1. Fold narrow end down 1/2" to WS; stitch close to edge
2. Stitch one piece of Velcro to RS of fabric, ½" down from folded edge.
3. RS together, fold up 3-1/2", (6-1/2") of Velcro® end; stitch side seams together. Turn RS out.
4. Turn under side edges of flap, as if continuing seam; stitch.
5. Wrap ribbon around top of flap leaving 1" loop on one end. Pin matching Velcro® to inside flap on top of ribbon. Stitch ribbon and Velcro® in place.

Optional Non-Food Safe Bags:

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1/3 yd. heavier fabric for each bag
  • 3/4 yd. 5/8" decorative ribbon
  • 1 pkg. Soft & Flexible Velcro
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Sewing machine

DIRECTIONS:

Brown dot, (green dot), (denim)
1. From fabric cut a 42" x 10-1/2" (5" x 40") (30" x 12") piece.
2. From Velcro® cut 9" (3-3/4") (10-1/2") length.
3. From ribbon cut 19" (8-1/2") (22") length.
4. Fold fabric in half WS together, smaller ends together.
5. On non-fold end, fold up 1/2" and stitch close to raw edge.
6. Stitch one piece of Velcro® to RS 1/2" down from folded edge
7. RS together, fold up Velcro® end part way and stitch side seams together.
8. Turn right side out.
9. Turn under the edges of flap as if continuing seam and stitch.
10. Wrap ribbon around top flap, leaving a 1" loop on one end. Pin matching Velcro® on inside of flap on top of ribbon. Stitch ribbon and Velcro® in place.
