Scarf measures 4” x 49”
GAUGE: Scarf measures 4” wide. CHECK GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge given.
Sassy Lace has holes running along one side. Crochet into each hole instead of yarning over in the usual way.
Chain (ch): Yarn over by inserting hook from front to back through next hole, pull through loop on hook.
Slip Stitch (slip st): Insert hook in front loop of st, yarn over by inserting hook from front to back through next hole, pull through st and loop on hook.
Row 1: Trim Sassy Lace by cutting a curve starting a little before the first hole and going to the bottom of the lace strip under the second hole. Fold lace strip so that first hole is over 2nd hole, insert hook from front to back in first hole and through 2nd hole then yarn over by inserting hook from front to back through the 3rd hole, pull 3rd hole through the 2 holes on hook (This will now be a slip knot on the hook), ch 4, turn work clockwise so that sassy lace is behind work, slip st in front loop of 2nd ch from hook and in front loop of each ch across; turn work clockwise so that sassy lace is behind work—3 slip sts.
Row 2: Ch 1, slip st in front loop of each slip st across; turn work clockwise so that sassy lace is behind work—3 slip sts.
Rep Row 2 until 5 to 8 holes remain.
Last Row: Cut Sassy Lace so that only 5 holes remain. Trimming about 1/3” below holes, make a cut from end of lace strip going under 5th and 4th hole then cut a curve going to the bottom of the lace strip under the 3rd hole. This gives an end about 1/2” deep that can be woven in. Ch 1, slip st in front loop of each slip st across, the 5th hole will be left unworked, pull loop on hook up until Sassy Lace end pops through. Using yarn needle, weave in end.
ch = chain
st(s) = stitch(es).
