SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

GIRAFFE PEN:

  • Sculpey Bake Shop Clay: tan, brown, black, red
  • Round Stic pen by BIC Graphic USA
  • Clay roller
  • Plastic knife
  • Toothpick
  • Wax paper, foil, metal baking sheet for work area

DIRECTIONS: Knead clay until soft and smooth.

  1. Remove ink cartridge from pen. Cover pen with thin sheet of tan clay.
  2. Wrap thick layer of black clay around brown log to make Bull's Eye Cane. Roll log to make thinner and cut thin slices to make several spots. Press spots onto pen.
  3. Make a tan head. Make 2 brown ears, 2 tan horns & a brown mane. Attach to head. Attach head to pen.
  4. Make & lightly press 2 tiny black balls for eyes. Use toothpick to make nostrils & mouth. Make tiny red ball for mouth.
  5. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275°F for 15 minutes per 1/4" of thickness. Allow pen to cool before reinserting ink cartridge.

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

JUNGLE PEN HOLDER:

  • Sculpey Bake Shop Clay: blue, beige, yellow, white, green, hot pink, purple, orange, black
  • Soup can
  • Clay roller
  • Toothpick
  • Plastic knife

DIRECTIONS: Refer to photo. Knead clay until soft and smooth.

  1. Cover bottom half of can with thin sheet of beige clay. Top with thin sheet of blue clay. Texture beige clay with toothpick to look like sand.
  2. Make sun, cloud, tree trunk & tree top. Attach to can. Make 5 flower petals, flower center, 5 blades of grass & a snake with tiny black eyes. Attach to can.
  3. Make pieces for lion body, feet, mane, head, eyes, muzzle, mouth, tongue & tail. Assemble; press together firmly. Use toothpick to add mane & feet details. Attach to can.
  4. Make pieces for elephant body, head, eyes, ears, trunk & toes. Assemble; press together firmly. Attach to can.
  5. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275°F for 15 minutes per 1/4 " of thickness. Cool completely.
