1. Cut a length of bead thread a few yards long. String on enough beads to fit perfectly around the top of the ornament, just fitting around the cap. Use twenty-one 6/0 size Metallic Seed Beads. Whatever number of starter beads fit around the ornament will determine the number of beaded “arms.” Seven arms divide equally out of 21 starter beads. Go back through the first bead and tie off the beading thread to secure and cut the thread.
2. Go back through three of the starter beads. Pick up another 6/0 seed bead, a clear oval crystal, a red oval crystal, a clear oval crystal, and another 6/0 seed bead. Go back through three more of the starter beads to create a loop.
3. Continue creating loops and weaving in and out of the starter beads and metallic seed beads in the loops to hold the loops together.
4. Using right-angle weave stitches, create the arms and diamond-shaped middle “belt” of the ornament.
5. Use more thread to string a pattern of oval red crystals and metallic seed beads around the entire ornament, in drooping garlands. String three rows of garlands, each one progressively larger.
6. String a crystal onto 26-gauge gold wire and make a wrapped loop. Attach red crystal dangles to the wrapped loop to finish the ornament.
