Mr. Webb currently serves as chairman of the board, a position he has held since July 2006. He began his career with Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores in July 2006 as chairman of the board, chief executive officer, and president. As of August 2011, Mr. Webb began serving as interim chief executive officer at Sports Authority.
Mr. Webb has been instrumental in developing and executing Jo-Ann?s business strategy, creating an inspirational, educational, creative shopping experience for customers. Because of his efforts to lead the company with the core values of integrity and accountability, in 2010 Forbes named Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores one of America's 100 Most Trustworthy Companies.
Previously, Mr. Webb was President of Fred Meyer Stores, a division of The Kroger Company, a large supermarket retailer, from 2002 until July 2006; and President of Kroger?s Quality Food Center Division from 1999 to 2002. He holds a Bachelor?s Degree in Business, as well as an MBA, from Portland State University
Travis Smith, Chief Executive Officer and President
Mr. Smith is chief executive officer and president for Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores. He began his career with Jo-Ann in 2006 serving as the company?s executive vice president, merchandising and marketing. In February 2009, Mr. Smith was named chief operating officer and added the duties of president in February 2010, then chief executive officer in August 2011.
Prior to joining the Jo-Ann team, Mr. Smith held merchandising and marketing positions of increasing responsibility with Fred Meyer Stores, a division of The Kroger Company, ultimately serving as Senior Vice President, General Merchandise of Fred Meyer Stores.
Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Marketing and Communication from the University of Notre Dame and was honored by Crain?s Cleveland Business as a member of its 2009 Forty Under Forty class.
Kenneth Haverkost, Executive Vice President, Store Operations
Mr. Haverkost joined Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores in October 2007 as executive vice president, store operations. In this role, he is responsible for leading the operational and strategic initiatives for more than 750 locations as well as new store development.
For the twenty-two years prior to assuming his current role, Mr. Haverkost held positions of increasing responsibility with Fred Meyer Stores, a division of The Kroger Company. Immediately prior to joining Jo-Ann, Mr. Haverkost was Senior Vice President and Director of Store Operations of Fred Meyer Stores.
Mr. Haverkost holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business from The Evergreen State College.
James Kerr, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Kerr has been a member of the Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores team since 1998. He began his career with the company as vice president, controller and chief accounting officer. In 2006 he was named executive vice president, chief financial officer. Through his financial leadership, he oversees treasury, accounting, tax, investor relations, internal audit and inventory control at Jo-Ann.
Prior to joining Jo-Ann, Mr. Kerr served in retail accounting positions at Revco Drug Stores and the Limited Incorporated.
Mr. Kerr received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Baldwin-Wallace College.
