SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Lion Brand®:
    Heartland Great Smoky Mountains, 1 ball or color of choice
    Crochet hook size K-10.5 (6.5 mm)
    Large-eyed blunt needle

DIRECTIONS:

SIZE
Finished Circumference
About 19'. Hat will stretch to fit a range of sizes.

GAUGE
11 sc = about 4'.
Be sure to check your gauge.
When matching the gauge in a pattern, the project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes fewer stitches and rows to match the gauge, try using a smaller size hook; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook.

HAT
Ch 26.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across – 25 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, working in back loops only, sc in each sc across.
Repeat Row 2 until piece measures about 19' from beginning. Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail. Thread yarn tail through ends of rows along one long edge and pull to gather for top of Hat. Knot securely.

FINISHING
Seam short sides of piece to make hat. Weave in ends.

ABBREVIATIONS
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
