19 sts + 14 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) over Pillar pattern.
Be sure to check your gauge.
When matching the gauge in a pattern, the project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes fewer stitches and rows to match the gauge, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
Note: The needles used for this design are larger than the size usually recommended for this yarn.
Cast on 35 sts.
Row 1: K1, *p1, k1; rep from * to end of row.
Row 2: K2, *purl next 3 sts tog but do not remove sts from left needle, then knit the same 3 sts tog and do not remove from left needle, then purl the same 3 sts tog again and slip all 3 sts from left needle, k1; rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 3: K1, p to last st, k1.
Rep Rows 2 and 3 until piece measures about 62' from beginning, end with a Row 2.
Weave in ends.
