I've been using this table for about 3 years now. It's just been great! No issues with durability, and my Bernina fits in the recessed area like a glove. HOWEVER.... the price appears to have taken a LARGE jump since I bought mine! I know I used a coupon. Do I think it's worth in excess of $300.. no.. I don't. But.. I believe we paid about $150.00 for mine and I have been very pleased. For the current asking price I'd be hitting the thrift stores looking for a solid wood deal.
I just bought the cabinet and after 3h I put all together. I must tell you I did not like the oak color. It was hard to level the sewing machine surface table. It still not even but usable...
I have this same maker (Arrow)but another model which is cheaper from SEWVACDIRECT.
This was delivered in about TWO days--boxes are very heavy though. Hubby put it together last night and kept commenting on how well it was made. It doesn't look like my old sewing machine cabinet with the spindly legs. I really like it. The airlift mechanism is awesome. I'm very happy with this purchase and you will be too.
Although this company's customer service is excellent, I've been disappointed in the design of the cabinet. It was difficult to level the sewing table, and when the cabinet and table are open, the door doesn't stay under the table...it swings a bit, which is annoying. The placement of the thread spools on the door doesn't work well either--I keep knocking the spools off the door while I work. The universal insert doesn't fit perfectly--you have to buy another machine-specific insert for that (and the reviews indicate they're not great). The exterior is oak laminate rather than real wood and looks kind of cheap. The wheels don't move very well, at least on my carpet with the machine in it. On the plus side, the lift works well.
I tried to find sewing cabinets locally at the Jo-Ann Centers. None to be found. I wanted to see the cabinet before buying it on-line. Well, I was worried for nothing. I ordered the Oak 5700. You wouldnt know it was a sewing cabinet unless someone told you. The boxes are heavy(2 of them), It took about an hour to put together. It looks great. I didnt like the knob they included, so I replaced it. I ordered it on a Wednesday, and UPS delivered it on Friday. I didnt like the shipping charges, but at todays gas prices I would have spent half that still looking for what I wanted. This is quick, easy and so worth it!
All I can say great product shipped fast with a great courtesy call it was on its way. Assembly took only 45 min for my Husband. Great sturdy cabinet. The lift works like a dream. All I can say is buy this product you will be very happy.
I am so happy with this cabinet. Not only does it look beautiful but I love how it closes into a compact unit that looks like a decorative piece of furniture. When closed no one would know this is a sewing cabinet. It fits so well in my very small craft room. When we first went to assemble the unit it looked complicated but once we dove in we found the instructions to be very well written and easy to assemble. I highly recommend this product.
