Description

SUPPLIES & TOOLS

  • Red Heart Super Saver yarn, 1 skein each: buff fleck (A), black (B), aran fleck (C)
  • Size 8 knitting needles, or needle to obtain gauge
  • Cable stitch holder
  • Yarn needle
  • 14" square pillow form

GAUGE: 16 sts = 4"; 24 rows = 4"

ABBREVIATIONS:

K = knit
P = purl
st(s) = stitch (es)

DIRECTIONS:

FRONT AND BACK: Make 2.

With B cast on 57 sts. Join colors as indicated; change color by picking up next color to be used under color just used to prevent a hole.
Row 1: (Right Side): K19 B, K19 A, K19 C.
Row 2: P19C, P19A, P19B.
Row 3-28: Repeat Rows 1 and 2.
Row 29: K19 C, K19 B, K19A.
Row 30-56: Work in St st in color arrangement as placed.
Row 57: K19 A, K19 C, K19 B
Row 58-84: Work in St st in color arrangement as placed.
Bind off.

STRIPS: Make 3 each A and C.

Cast on 5 sts and work in Stockinette st until 6" from beginning. Bind off.

Sew strips with knit side up onto B squares in front pillow piece as photographed in a horseshoe shape, aligning ends of same strip with same edge of block and looping second strip through the horseshoe before sewing in place. Sew front and back together; insert pillow form before closing 4th side.
