NOTES:
Poncho is made from 64 Lacy Motifs and 4 Lacy Half Motifs sewn together, following diagram.
To print the diagram, click on the "Download Project PDF" button (above).
Lacy Motifs are worked in joined rnds, with RS facing. Do not turn at beg of rnds.
Edging is worked around neck and outside edges of assembled Poncho.
When "– 12 sts" appears in the instructions, this indicates how many sts there will be at the end of that specific row.
DIRECTIONS:
LACY MOTIF (make 64)
Ch 4. Join with a sl st in first ch to form a ring
Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 3 (beg ch counts as a dc on this rnd and on all following rnds), 2 dc in ring, (ch 5, 3 dc in ring) 3 times, ch 5; join with a sl st in top of beg ch – you will have 12 dc and 4 ch-5 sps at the end of this rnd.
Rnd 2: Ch 2, dc2tog (counts as first dc3tog), (ch 5, 5 dc in next ch-5 sp, ch 5, dc3tog over next 3 dc) 3 times, ch 5, 5 dc in next ch-5 sp, ch 2; join with dc in first st (ch 2 + dc count as ch-5 sp) – 4 dc3tog and 5-dc groups and 8 ch-5 sps.

Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in each sc around, working 3 dc in center sc of each corner; join with a sl st in top of beg ch-3.
Rnds 3-9: Ch 3, (FPDC, BPDC) around, working 3 dc in center dc of each corner; join with a sl st in top of beg ch.
Fasten off.

Neck Edging
Rnd 1: From RS, join yarn with a sl st in any corner along neck edge of Poncho, work 19 sc spaced evenly across each full Motif and 9 sts across each Half Motif; join with a sl st in first sc – 38 sc on each side. Place a marker in each corner sc.
