Row 2: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Ch 1. Skip next sc. Rep from * to last 2 sts. 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Ch 1. Skip next sc. 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from * to last 2 sts. Ch 1. Skip

First Rectangle
With RS facing, join B with sl st to first rem loop of foundation ch of Beg Square at bottom left corner.
Working in rem loops of foundation ch, proceed as follows:
Row 1: Ch 1. 1 sc in first ch. *Ch 1. Skip next ch. 1 sc in next ch. Rep from * to end of chain. Turn. 97 sts. With B, cont in pat as for Beg Square until First Rectangle measures 10", ending on a RS row. Fasten off.
Second Rectangle
Turn work 90 degrees clockwise.
With RS facing, join C with sl st to corner of First Rectangle. Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as sl st. Working along side edge, proceed as follows:
Row 1: *Ch 1. Skip next sc row. 1 sc in side of ch-1 sp of next row. Rep from * to top corner of Beg Square. Turn. 153 sts.
With C, cont in pat until Second Rectangle measures 10", ending on a RS row. Fasten off.
Third Rectangle
Turn work 90 degrees counterclockwise.
With RS facing, join D with sl st to corner of Second Rectangle.
Row 1: Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as sl st. Work 37 sts in pat across right side edge of Second Rectangle. Work 97 sts in pat along top of First Rectangle. Turn. 135 sts. With D, cont in pat until Third Rectangle measures 20", ending on a RS row. Fasten off.
Fourth Rectangle
Turn work 90 degrees clockwise.
With RS facing, join B with sl st to top right corner of Third Rectangle.
Row 1: Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as sl st. Work 73 sts in pat across left side edge of Third Rectangle. Work 153 sts in pat along top of Second Rectangle. Turn. 227 sts. With B, work in pat until Fourth Rectangle measures 16", ending on a RS row. Fasten off.
