SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • Red Heart Super Saver yarn, Arab & Oatmeal
  • Scissors
  • Crochet hook H8/5.00mm
  • Yarn needle
  • Black buttons (4)

DIRECTIONS:
Working with Aran yarn.
Ch 4, sl st in first ch to create ring.
Row 1: Ch 2, 8 sc into ring, sl st into top of ch 2.
Row 2: Ch 2, 2 hdc in each st around, sl st into top of ch 2.
Row 3: Ch 2, *hdc, 2 hdc in next st, repeat from * to end of row, sl st into top of ch 2.
Row 4: Ch 2, *hdc in next 5 sts, 2 hdc in next st, repeat from * to end of row, sl st into top of ch 2.
Row 5-6: Ch 2, hdc in each st around, sl st into top of ch 2.
Tie on Oatmeal yarn.
Row 7-14: Ch 2, hdc in each st around, sl st into top of ch 2.
Row 15: Ch 2, hdc in first st, ch 6, skip the next 4 sts, hdc in each st to end of row, sl st into top of ch 2.
Row 16: Ch 2, hdc in each st and ch to end of row, sl st into top of ch 2.
Row 17-19: Ch 2, hdc in each st around, sl st into top of ch 2.
Row 20: Ch 3, dc in each st around, sl st into top of ch 3.
Row 21-24: Ch 3, *fpdc around next st, bpdc around next st, repeat from * to end of row, sl st into top of ch 3. Tie off and weave in ends.

To create thumb, attach yarn into hole created in body of mitten.
Row 1: Ch 2, work 10 hdc evenly around the hole, sl st into top of ch 2.
Row 2-5: Ch 2, hdc in each st around, sl st into top of ch 2.
Row 6: Ch 1, sc2tog around, sl st into ch 1.  Tie off leaving a long tail.
With yarn needle, wrap tail yarn through the top of each stitch. Pull tightly to cinch closed. Weave in end.

Ears
(Make 2)
Ch 4, sl st into first ch to create ring.
Row 1: Ch 2, work 8 sc into ring, sl st into top of ch 2.
Row 2: Ch 2, 2 sc in each st around, sl st into top of ch 2.
Row 3: Ch 2, sc in each st around, sl st into top of ch 2. Tie off leaving a long tail for sewing.
To create nose, cut an arms length of yarn. Wrap yarn around three stitches where desired several times and secure in place.
Position ears where desired and sew in place.
Position buttons where desired and sew in place for eyes.
