  • 10-1/2 yds. - Pellon® 71F Single Side Adhesive Peltex
  • 1/4 yd. – 1" Velcro®, cut into 6- 1-1/2" Pcs.

    • CUTTING:

    DIRECTIONS:

      Small Boxes:
    1. Following the manufacturer’s directions, fuse the Interfacing to the wrong side of each handle piece.
    2. Fold the handle pieces in half length wise and stitch 2 short side and long side leaving an opening on the side for turning. Turn. Press and hand stitch the opening closed. Top stitch on both long edges.
    3. Stitch the handle 1” from the top and 2-1/2" from each side to the front and back piece of each small box piece.
    4. Stitch 1 ½” of the soft side of the Velcro® 4" from the top and 6" in from each side edge to the front and back piece of each small back piece.
    5. Following the manufacturer’s directions, fuse the Peltex to the wrong side of each corresponding piece.
    6. With right sides together stitch the four pieces of each box together, stopping 1/2" from the bottom.
    7. With right sides together, stitch the bottom piece to the box, pivoting at each corner.
    8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 with the lining pieces for the 3 boxes.
    9. Place the lining into the box having the wrong sides together.
    10. Baste the top raw edges together.
    11. Bind the top edge with the bias binding.

      Large Box:
    1. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with the 2 handles for the large box.
    2. Stitch the handles to the sides of the box 2" from the top edge and 5" in on each side.
    3. Repeat steps 5-8 with the large box pieces.
    4. Stitch the rough side of the Velcro to the right side of the lining on the front and back piece, 1-1/2" from the top edge and 5-1/4" in on the sides. Stitch the last piece of Velcro® 1-1/2" from the top and in the middle of the lining. It should line up with the small boxes.
    5. Place the lining into the box having the wrong sides together.
    6. Baste the top raw edges together.
    7. Bind the top edge with the bias binding.
