DIRECTIONS:
  1. Cut:
    a.       One 27" x 40" main fabric
    b.      One 9" x 40" cuff fabric
    c.       One 2 1/2" x 40" trim fabric
  2. Fold trim fabric in half lengthwise wrong sides together and press.
  3. Place cuff fabric face up on a flat surface.  Pin trim piece long raw edge along top long raw edge of the cuff fabric.
  4. Place main fabric face down on trim/cuff fabric, pin along the top long raw edge then baste together using a ¼" seam allowance.
  5. Beginning at the bottom of the main fabric, roll fabric up to the top basted edge until bottom edge of the cuff fabric shows.
  6. Fold the bottom edge of the cuff fabric up over the rolled main fabric and pin to basted edge. Sew along the basted edge using a 3/8" seam.  Be careful not to catch the main fabric in the seam.
  7.  Pull the main fabric roll out one end of the cuff and press.
  8.  Fold fabric in half wrong sides together and sew a 1/4" seam along the side and bottom.
  9.  Trim the seam allowance to 1/8", clip corner and turn wrong side out.
  10.  Press seam with right sides together.
  11. Sew a 1/4" seam.
  12.  Turn right side out and press.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Allow for shrinkage on cheaply produced cotton fab If you purchase your fabric at JOANN's, you'd better pay for at least an extra inch, maybe two, on each piece of fabric. They measure and cut so close that when you wash the cotton fabric, you will end up with significantly less fabric than required for the project. I lost at least an inch to shrinkage (assuming the fabric was cut correctly) on each piece of fabric I purchased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great directions ! Your directions are just fine if people READ them. Cuff is face up, main fabric face down. Works beautifully to enclose all seams! Thank you, JoAnn!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tutorial! What a great project! The seams are enclosed, so neat and tidey. Just go step by step and it turns out so nice. My grandson is going to love his tractor fabric pillowcase. Thanks so much for your instructions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple project, but difficult without pictures I thought this would be a quick, 20-minute project, but I was so confused by the instructions that it took me over an hour to finish the first time. Many of the steps in the directions (like rolling up the main fabric) didn't make sense to me until I was much further into the project. I have included a few photos that I hope will help explain it. Tip: Use a 2.5" strip for the trim piece, and a 12" wide strip for the cuff. Proportionally it will look better, and it ensures that the pillow case will be long enough for a standard or queen pillow.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Are these directions wrong? I tried this and when I turned the fabric the trim was inside between the cuff and the pillowcase fabric. When I basted the trim to the pillowcase fabric and then sewed the cuff to it it came out fine. I think I must have missed something.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Happy and unhappy Happy to find instructions to make this type of pillowcase for Christmas presents. Unhappy to find out that part of the instructions are wrong. No fun taking out 80 inches of stitches! (two pillowcases) Error: Placing the pillow body (big piece) onto the cuff is suppose to be right sides together.
