  • Stem of smaller pearly beads on silver wire spray
  • Stem of cream white small flower spray- no greenery on it
  • Cardstock for stars and moons: glitter silver, gold
  • Strand of white tree lights
  • Roll of ivory translucent ribbon 1/4" wide
  • Hot glue gun & glue sticks
  • Roll of baker's twine or thin roll of jute
  • Scissors
  • Wire cutters
  • Duct tape- light brown or white
  • Sewing Machine
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Cricut® machine

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut the two different fabrics into 3 panels of 2 yards each.
  2. Lay the two different pieces for each panel on top of each other with the sheer fabric on the outside.
  3. Using your sewing and the two different fabrics together, sew them together at the top with a 1" hem. You are making a two-layered curtain.
  4. Using your wire cutters cut the gold hoop.
  5. Slide the 3 panels of fabric onto the hoop with sheer side out.
  6. Tape the hoop closed using the duct tape.
  7. Cut three pieces of baker's twine 20" in length.
  8. Tie the bakers twine in between the panels on to the gold hoop.
  9. Pull the three strands evenly together while keeping the hoop level and tie a knot. Pull the group of strands of baker's twine around making a loop and tie them together at the base of the first knot to make a hanging loop.
  10. Hang this from the ceiling if possible so that the top of the canopy can be worked on.
  11. Using the remaining piece of sheer fabric, sew a wide stitch line about 1" from the top, leaving extra thread at each end of the fabric.
  12. Gather the fabric as tight as possible by pulling the thread to bunch the fabric. Wrap this gather piece at the base of the knot of the hanging loop.
  13. Using the glue gun, attach the bottom of the gathered fabric to the inside of the gathered tent on the hoop.
  14. Cut off on the inside of the hoop the excess fabric on the top piece.
  15. Attach lights to the inside of the doorway on the tent by sliding the lights through the hanging bakers twine on the inside.
  16. Using a needle and thread tack the strands of light on either side of the doorway to keep them out of the way of the entrance.
  17. Using the cardstock, cut stars and moons by hand or use a Cricut® machine, making them the size that you desire.
  18. Glue the cardstock stars and moons about 2" apart on a 6' strand of baker's twine. Consider attaching the stars and moons onto the baker's twine so that they are double-sided.
  19. Slide the strand through the hanging bakers twine at the same location as the lights. Let the moon and star strands drape at the doorway.
  20. At the top of the entrance opening use the glue gun to attach flower trims, ribbons, pearl beads. They can be attached to the top of the canopy as well. Put on as much or as little to create the desired effect.
  21. To make the hanger feel “finished," use the ribbon to wrap the baker's twine loop and make the loop feel complete.
