iDye comes in 38 vibrant colors - 30 colors (402-431) for 100% natural fabrics such as cotton, silk, rayon, wool, and linen, and 8 colors (447-454) for polyesters and nylons colors for polyesters and nylons. There are also two laundry aids: Color Remover, which will remove or lighten a color and brighten whites; and Sun Blocker, which when added to the wash cycle will penetrate clothing and block harmful UV rays from the sun. iDye comes in a packet that dissolves in water, which means there is no handling of messy dye powders. Just throw the dye packet in, add salt and run through the wash cycle. It is ultimately the easiest way to get gorgeous color!
Was easy to use and with good results. The packet disolved well and didn't leave spots like other powdered brands. Worked great on white with a consistent, solid and rich color. I recommend using the washing machine method with salt. Came out great. Will use again for other projects.
While the range of color in this dye is not wide, it can be mixed with excellent results. I wanted to dye a sweater the exact hue of a purple skirt and by mixing a batch myself I was able to do so. The colors are intese, they are lasting and they haven't had any residual bleed when washed with other cloths. That is fortunate as I forgot to wash the sweater separately! I have dyed my white linen blouses ecru, a very pretty color, my white jeans bright purple and some faded T-shirts a lovely olive green with this product. I got much more even results with just throwing the dissolving packet into my front loading washer than I got stirring the fabric on the stove. I am ordering more and really recommend it!
i wanted to change my cream colored curtains gold purchased gold orcher the color looked exactly what i wanted washed them in the dye they came out orange and the color is darker in some areas now i have to find another product to cover the orange
Was not even close to the color is said it was. Gold Ochre turned out orange. Not an even dye either.
I use this product to dye wool roving, locks and hand spun yarn. It works wonderfully! I mix up stock solutions using 1 iDye packet to 1 qt. of water and then use what I need to dye the yarn, fleece or roving. The colors mix well, dye well, and keep well. I recommend it to anyone who asks about my yarns or spinning fibers.
I have used lots of fabric dyes and find this product a good value. Colors are limited but combining colors offers unlimited possibilities. I find dissolving the packets on boiling water and adding it slowly in my (front-loading) washer on highest water temp (160) works best. Salt and soda ash added produces best results. Don't throw those jeans away!! Use iDye color remover and start again!
I have been dyeing white wranglers for years now for Rodeo Queens - have used Rit, Dylan, Colorado etc. - thought I would give iDye a try. The color is not an even color. I tried it on the stove and in the washing machine. May be great for tye dye but not something you want one consistant solid color. Have had to throw away too many jeans with this product.
I called the customer service line to clarify that 2 - 3 lbs was dry and talked to the awesome associate who recommended the stove top for best results. WOW, the colors were brilliant and my finished producted looked better than I had hoped. This product is amazing.
