TURQUOISE LEOPARD ROSE NECKLACE

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Black seed beads 6/0 (large)
  • Black seed beads 10/0 (small)
  • Black faceted beads 14mm
  • Turquoise rose plastic beads
  • Turquoise stone bead 20mm
  • Black nickel lobster clasp 12mm
  • Black nickel clasp 10mm
  • Black beading thread
  • Beading needle
  • Flat nose pliers
  • Cutters

DIRECTIONS:

1. Cut 2 segments of thread, 36” and 72” long.
2. Tie both ends into the loop of 1 black nickel clasp in an overhand knot.
3. Onto both ends of thread, string 5 small black seed beads and 4 large black seed beads. Then bring back the thread to the first large black seed bead, creating a diamond shape.
4. Add 5 more small black seed beads. Repeat steps 2 &3 twice more, still using both ends of thread.
5. Take one end of the shorter thread and string 1 7/8” small black seed beads. Bring the thread back through the first seed bead, forming a circle. String a black faceted bead that will fill up the center of the circle.
6. String through one existing seed bead on the opposite side of the circle. Then string 3 small black seed beads and 4 large black seed beads. Bring back the thread through the first large black seed bead, creating a diamond shape.
7. Add 3 more small black seed beads. Repeat steps 5 & 6 seven times to create the inner portion of the necklace. Follow of the red lines of the diagram below for this thread path.
8. Take the long thread and string through 8 existing seed beads.
9. String 5 small black seed beads and 4 large seed beads. Bring back the thread through the first large black seed bead to create a diamond, and add 5 more small seed beads.
10. Follow the multi-colored lines of the diagram below, which illustrates the thread path for each of the beaded segments of the necklace. This path attaches to the red path strung in previous steps, uniting the inner and bottom portions of the necklace.
11. To finish off, string through the seed beads around the final facetted bead on the short string. Repeat steps 4 and 3, mirroring the beads strung at the very beginning, to create the other side of the necklace.
12. Finish by tying the end off to the other side of the clasp.

4. Take the left thread, and string 2 seed beads. Bring back the thread through first seed bead.
5. String 1 black seed bead and 6 silver beads, then back through the first silver bead forming a circle/flower. Add 1 black seed bead for the flower center, then string the thread through one of the silver seed beads on the opposite side of the flower.
6. Add 1 black seed bead, then string the thread thru two beads of the nearest stick from step #3. Continue until there are 12 flowers.
