Description

NO-SEW FLEECE THROW

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Fleece, 2 yds ea: Print & solid
  • Rotary cutter, ruler & mat
  • Tape measure
  • Optional: June Tailor® Shape Cutâ„¢ template

DIRECTIONS:

1. Cut both layers of fleece at the same time, layering with wrong sides together. Cut 56"x70" from each piece of fleece.
2. Cut 5" square from each corner of the fleece.
3. FRINGE: Cut 5" into fleece at 1" intervals around all sides of top & bottom layers. Option: Use the June Tailor® Shape Cut™ template with rotary cutter & mat to easily cut 1" fringe.
4. Knot fringes together around blanket, using 1 strand from the front and 1 strand from the back.

NO-SEW FLEECE PILLOW

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Fleece, 3/4 yd ea: Print & solid
  • 16" square pillow form
  • Rotary cutter, ruler & mat
  • Tape measure

DIRECTIONS:

1. Cut 26"x26" from each piece of fleece.
2. Lay fleece wrong sides together. Cut a 5" square from each corner.
3. FRINGE: Cut 5" into fleece at 1" intervals around all sides of top & bottom layers.
4. Knot fringe pieces together around 3 sides, using 1 strand from the front and 1 strand from the back. Insert pillow form. Tie pillow closed.

LINED MARKET BAG

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 45" home decor fabrics:
    • 3/4 yd for outer bag
    • 1 yd for lining & straps
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Sewing machine
  • Iron and pressing surface
  • Optional: 12"x8" cardboard for bottom

DIRECTIONS:

CUTTING:
Outer fabric: Two 15"x13" pcs for front & back
9½"x41" pcs for sides & bottom
Lining fabric: Two 5"x13" pcs
One 9½"x41" pc
Two 5"x44" straps
ASSEMBLY:
1. Fold straps in half lengthwise & press. Open & fold edges to middle. Refold & press. Place inside edge of strap 3" in from each side edge of front. Topstitch both sides of strap to 5" from top. Repeat with the back piece.
2. Reinforce corners & clip.
3. Using 1/2" seam, stitch front to side & bottom, clipping and pivoting at corners. Repeat with back piece. Press seams toward sides. Repeat with lining pieces, except leave a 5" opening at bottom for turning.
4. Right sides together, place lining inside bag and pin top edges; do not catch handles in seam. Stitch & turn. Press & topstitch. Continue top stitching straps to bag, reinforcing with X-stitch at top edge.
5. Optional: Cover cardboard with fabric. Place in bottom of bag.

NO-SEW TUTU

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Tulle, 2 yds each: 4 colors
  • One pkg 1/2" elastic
  • Scissors or rotary cutting set
  • Ruler
  • Basic hand sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

1. Measure waist size. Cut elastic to measurement. Overlap ends and sew or tie together, forming a circle.
2. Cut tulle into 4" and 6" strips x WOF. Cut each in half or vary the length.
3. Layer 2 strips, fold in half & loop the center point under the waistband. Pull ends through to form knot.
4. Continue to loosely tie 30 to 40 knots of tulle on one side of elastic.

TULLE BOA

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 3½ yds total crushed tulle in several colors
  • 78" of yarn
  • Scissors or rotary cutting set
  • Ruler
  • Tapestry needle

DIRECTIONS:

1. Cut fifteen 8"x42" pieces of tulle.
2. Thread needle; tie secure knot at one end of the yarn.
3. Fold both long sides of the tulle strip inward, then fold in half, with raw edge inside.
4. Sew 1" running stitch through the tulle to the end, scrunching the tulle down the yarn. Repeat with the remaining pieces of tulle.
5. Measure 72", remove needle from yarn & tie secure knot at the end. Trim excess yarn.
