Product Reviews:
I have been using Aunt Lydias crochet thread for years. The new I just got (made in India) seems not as soft as the past. Either the finish is different or is wound tighter. The dollies I make is terriable. Seems to loose, if I use a small hook, still is not like the same dollie pattern I have used over and over. has anyone else found this problem?
back to productI love this thread & use it for many different things. The plies do split a little now & then. But it's certainly the best lower price thread on the market. It has a nice sheen to it too. I wish it came in more colors. WARNING: Make sure you buy all you need at the same time. In the last year they have changed the country they make this in 2 or 3 times & everytime the colors are just enough different not ot work together. I started a bedspread with Natural thread made in Poland & it was lovely. It had just the tiniest bit of a pinkish tint in the light. When I went to get more, it was being made in India & the color was a real Natural. *This, the Jumbo 1 lb & the smaller Classic Crochet Thread are all the same product.
back to productI design crochet pieces and prefer Aunt Lydia's to all other products> I spend many hours crocheting and other threads make my fingers sore, Aunt Lydia's never does and the product is always exceptional.
back to productI have not tried any other thread because my mother, who has been doing thread crochet for over 60 years, informed me that Aunt Lydia's was one of the best. I tried it and I immediately fell in love with it, so I never needed to try any others. I love the way it feels, and it looks so soft yet a bit shiny in the light. The natural is a really pretty color, not too brown but just right. The white is a crisp, bright white that is very pretty. It also comes in a size 20 that is also an excellent high-quality product, but I use bedspread weight for almost all my doilies as the size 20 is a little more challenging to use.
back to productThis thread is by far the best price, and it is also one of the few soft, strong threads out there. It may go from thick to thin sometimes, but it only seems to add to the charm of the product. If you are tight on a budget, please look no further. This thread is fun to work with. I think that's very important, to enjoy what you are doing. I do not have to pull or tug with this thread.
