Product Reviews:
I've been using 2 of these organizers for 4 years. They work well to sort papers, but they do not withstand being carried by their handle. The latch is also poor. They do not stand on their own after being filled with paper. I have used them inside a travel bag. Also, the dividers do not go the whole way to the bottom so small pieces of paper will float around and get mixed up. The plastic is still in good condition after 4 years of weekly use.
back to productI have had this proguct for about 5 years. I love it. It is true that if you overstuff it the lock does not stay locked. I do not take this anywhere, I instead use it to store my papers so they do not get wrinkled or folded. I love that I can open the pockets and see exactly what and how many particular papers I have. I have have soooo much paper, I am buying 2 more...I have about 1000 pieces of scapbook paper 81/2 x aa and 12x12. I amusing my 40% off coupon so it is an even better value!
back to productThis product works great for me and I love it! But I also didn't buy it to carry around and put a ton of paper in. I use it more for a temporary storage place and I don't have any where close to 200 sheets. I agree with the other reviewers though... if you want to tote it around and stuff it FULL of paper, this product probably isn't sturdy enough for you.
back to productThe idea of a portable paper file case is great. But the construction is very, very poor. I used a 50 percent coupon and even at 7.50 it wasn't worth what I spent. I put paper in and the little dividers are popping apart. It looks like they are heat sealed and not very well. And I don't have much paper in mine at all. I only loaded it with what I wanted to take to a crop. There MUST be something better out there for 12x12 papers.
back to productI use mine for storing genealogy papers and use the dividers for each family. I've read the reviews about the handle and clip falling apart. Since I'm not carrying this around, but using it more as storage, I just make sure that I have one hand at the bottom of the product . . . just in case! Today I'm buying more since our family tree has grown.
back to productI would not reccomend this product!! The latch does not stay locked, every time I picked it up, it would pop open and send papers flying. I doesn't sit upright, it falls over. It might have been ok if the latch would stay locked and was placed lower on the case. I picked mine up for the last time, it popped open, fell forward and when I grabbed it the back tore out..yahoo..in the trash it went!
back to productMy story is almost exactly like Amanda's 4/17/05. The only difference is that I didn't think to take mine back. I had just purchased the case and enclosed probably less than 200 sheets of paper and scraps. When I picked up the handle the fastener came undone and the back ripped away from the whole case all the way down to the bottom.
back to productThis looked like it would be very durable, but unfortunately I was very disappointed. Just trying to fill it with paper for the first time, caused it to start cracking and splitting in a few places. Then, going in and out of it as I worked caused even more splitting (and I only owned it for 2 days). Also, the compartments are not separate at the bottom, so small scraps of paper will slip under and get stuck or end up under another compartment. Finally, if it is filled with a generous amount of paper (even if half of the compartments are empty) it won't close or stand up.
