design wall
I just purchased this design tool and love it! I so fully enjoyed watching my quilt come together before sewing. I only wish it were a little wider. I was very surprised how well it held a completed 12" block. Wish I had purchased this a long time as I tend to spend a lot of time torturing over design layout laying on a table.

Just what I needed
I finally decided I needed a design wall when I started making jelly roll quilts. They are considerably "scrappier" than my usual quilt, and I needed a way to arrange the blocks besides using the dining room table. This design wall was a great price and works wonderfully! I was afraid I wouldn't have enough wall space but I hung it behind the door to the sewing/guest room. I only used hooks for 4 of the 7 grommets and it works fine. I only wish there was a way to ion it. I'm hesitant to do so with the vinyl backing. Hopefully time and gravity will work out the wrinkels. Right now it is holding an enitre twin size quilt top with no problems ast all!

Fons & Porter Design Wall
I love this product. I was going to make my own but the price of this changed my mind. And I do like the lines that are on the back that show through to the front for keeping things straight. Took 10 minutes to put it up and it was ready to go.

Terrific Product
I love my Fons and Porter Design wall! I use the 3M Command Strip hook hangers to hang from the pre-set grommets. I love the grid on the vinyl side because it shows slightly thru to the flannel side and helps me line up my designs. I knew I could make my own design wall, but never had time... I love that this was INSTANT and ready to use immediately. I left an entire quilt on the wall for almost six months and none of the pieces ever fell. I took it to the a Quilt Retreat recently and again used the Command hooks to temporarily hang it. Everyone LOVED it. Great investment, particularly when purchased using a Joann's coupon.

Works for me
I bought this to view my one block wonder quilt at our quilting days at our RV park. It held all my blocks and the other ladies quilts that used it. I found nothing wrong with it.

Please . . . Don't waste your money!
The concept of this design wall is good, but the quality is quite poor. The fuzzy side is so sparse, it’s hard to believe it’s described as flannel; the vinyl backing is cheap and thin with a strong chemical smell. Do yourself a favor and either buy a flannel-backed tablecloth from your local discount store or a used flannel sheet from a thrift store. Then buy a Dritz grommet tool along with some grommets and make your own holes to hang it by and you’ll have a much better quality item and a decent design wall for less than one fourth the price of the F&P item. (That’s what I plan on doing.) You won’t have to worry about the quality or the chemical smell. In the end you’ll pat yourself on the back and count yourself wise.
