I used this adhesive to apply upholstery fabric to batting for a chair that required this kind of application. A light coating didn't hold well at all. Then I tested it side by side with another brand of spray adhesive from Joann's. I sprayed a heavier coat to make sure the fabric would adhere. This adhesive dried very stiff while the other was soft and flexible. I would use the Elmer's for applications that didn't need to be flexible when dried but otherwise--no.
