The pattern is printed on the fabric. I had to order the fabric to get the quantity I needed, so was unable to determine before purchasing that the fabric is not printed squarely on the fabric, meaning that the pattern on the left side of the fabric is over an inch higher than on the right side of a panel. Also, the fabric shrinks significanlty when ironed, even with a cool iron. It is not possible to get a crisp edge where I have turned it under for the side hems on the panels. I am extremely disappointed with this purchase. Since I had to order the fabric, the store policy is that I had to pay for it at the time of ordering and have no recourse now.
