Product Reviews:
I am really not impressed with this yarn for the price. I bought some on clearence and on sale. Don't think I would pay full price for this yarn. While it is soft, I just think it is WAY over priced just because it is Martha Stewart. Will use up what I have, but will not buy again.
back to productI've tried 5 skeins of this for a striped hats I sale, so the tied places aren't a huge deal so far. BUT if I were making something larger I could see where that would be a pain. It's super soft, doesn't split, and is overall a nice yarn from a craft store. It is a bit pricy, but Martha tends to over price all of her stuff. Thankfully Joann's always has 50% coupons, so it cuts the price down. I will say I wish they had more colors. Some jewel tones would be nice.
back to productI have purchased many skeins of this product. I like how it knits up and the lovely fabric drape it produces, however, I find it most frustrating that just about every skein I have purchased has been tyed together at some point to produce a full skein. At the higher point price of this product, the manufacturer should be able to produce a full of skein of product without tying it together. Very frustrating. I also find that the yarn is not always piled together very well and separates very easy when knitting.
back to productI just finished a beautiful Cable knitted Hat for my husband(got the pattern off my favorite place Ravelry!) This yarn Knitted very nicely, very clean looking, my husband has been wearing it almost everyday for the past month, and so it has been washed several times as well, and it has machine washed and dryed just as advertised! I plan on using more of this yarn, despite the higher price for many more project!
back to productI'm finishing an Aran sweater as a gift- color Buttermilk. Although, it is machine washable, I recommend hand wash w/Woolite or EUCALAN or DRY CLEAN on all hand knit/crochet projects. As a gift, I always insert a washing instructions and I only give to those who knows how to appreciate it. It is not cheap even if the yarn was on sale, all the effort and most of all it was made with love.
back to productI really like the colors and how soft it is - the hat I made worked up beautifully. I'm sorry the other reviewer had trouble with this yarn. I machine washed and dried a swatch of it with no problems. It did not pill, nor did it smell once out of the dryer.
back to productThis yarn was great to work with while knitting a baby blanket. It advertises itself to be machine washable and dryable at the hottest available temperatures. However, the first time I washed it in COLD water it came out smelling like a wet dog. When I dried it on LOW, it pilled up something awful. Wool items do pill with use and time but this was the FIRST TIME. It was meant to be a gift and I'm embarrassed enough that I have to now replace the yarn and start over. I cannot recommend this yarn as lovely as it feels before it's knitted and washed.
