Colors misleading

I bought this fabric to recover dining room chairs that I had painted the dark blue cover with a white dining table. The fabric online looks like the background is white with a distinctly yellow stripe - when it arrived the background is much darker, more of a beige, and the "yellow" stripe is a dark beige. I will still use the fabric as it has a nice look to it, but the colors were very different than online!
