Poor Quality

This is a you-get-what-you-pay-for case. I have purchased luxite hooks individually and haven't had problems at all, but the hook set I bought was poorly manufactured. There are raised seams down the length of the hook that fray the yarn and, during long crochet sections, irritate my fingers. The seams also create a yarn-damaging point on the end of the hook.

I own several sets

I think they are excellent overall and provide good contrast to most yarn colors (except white of course). A fine grit emery board will take off any small catchy spots. To make the hook sizes easier to read, rub the area with a dark colored childs crayon and then wipe the excess away with a paper towel or tissue.

I bought more!

I am always leaving hooks with my not-yet-competed projects. So I was looking for an inexpensive "spare" set of hooks. Usually I only use plastic as a last resort and so I figured that's what I would do with these. I was surprised at their good feel in my hand and also the smooth way they worked the yarn! I liked them so much I bought another set. Now I can start even more projects!

You get what you pay for!

I was a newbie to crochet, so I thought I'd pick these up for cheap to get started. Well, the hook I was using worked fair enough (though I'm thinking it maybe made my learning more difficult now that I've read the reviews), but then the hook snapped off towards the end of finishing a headband. Now, I'm going to have to shell out money for more sturdy hooks. I should've just gone with better ones from the start! Please don't make the same mistake!!!

Bad Design

The cut into the shaft to shape it leaves a sharp wedge as the end of the hook. It makes for slow going, because the yarns tend to split and snag on it as you work. The smaller the hook, the more frustrating it is to use.

good hooks

this plastic hooks are pretty good pull more fast the crochet and don't make your finger hurt and get more comfortable when working moving easy in and out on hard crayon.

poor packaging

Prefer Susan Bates crochet hooks, but notpackaged this way. Bought the set to carry on airplane, but did not get all the sizes marked on package. There were 2 of one size and one size was missing. Also difficult to read the size markings. The yarns do not move easily over the hook.

Great Value

I really love the Susan Bates inline hooks! These are very economical and easy to use. I haven't had any trouble snagging yarn. PLUS no problems with airport security! Admittedly it was my fine steel hooks that set off a buzzer, but now I make sure to travel with plastic hooks.
