Extraordinarily sharp, great scissor

After trying several scissors for cutting fleece I died and went to heaven when I tried these. I could easily cut 4 layers at once! But I will say that after 7 months of cutting a lot of fleece which is hard on scissors they did dull so I could only go thru 3 layers. The mechanism worked create, just popped open after each cut. Not sure where or how to sharpen them, my JoAnn store had no idea.

They stick

Not so crazy about them. Used for a denim rag quilt, and they wore out about 1/4 of the way into the process. Won't buy them again

New version not as good as the earlier

I bought these to replace the beloved softtouch springaction scissors that I had worn out (the spring finally gave up the ghost). The handles are a little different, but the big difference is where the catch to hold them closed is located. The new catch is located between the handles and as such tends to creep forward when using and catching the spring so that they don't open and close correctly. The blades are wonderfully sharp, but this "improvement" has been a major pain.

I wasn't fooled either. I am on my 4th pair (in a 20 year span). I love these scissors so much that it doesn't even occur to me to use the "old-fashion" ones. I also have severe arthritsis, and an additional bone disorder that makes it hurt even more. Simply put; these scissors are like a 'wheel-chair' for my disabled hands. They are definately Fiskars answer to keeping us all in the sewing grove regardless of ability or disability.

I wasn't fooled..

I just purchased my 3rd pair, not counting the ones I gave to my Mom and a couple of quilt-crazy aunts. These are amazing. If you're having a problem with the spring loaded action, you must have gotten a faulty pair. I also have arthritis and could not pursue my sewing addiction without these.

Don't let the "Softouch" fool you

I bought these to replace a pair of Softouch scissors that broke. What a disappointment! These don't work like traditional Softouch scissors. Even with spring loading, they require manual opening and closing as hard as with regular scissors like grandma used to have. Don't let the "Softouch" fool you because these require some serious muscles. They're definitely NOT for people like me with arthritis or carpal tunnel problems!
