Snags!
I have a set of these and i noticed that compared to a different brand, which has rounded hooks and works great, these ones have very pointy hooks. they snag my yarn on just about every stitch i do. i can't go as fast as i want to because i have to be very careful and keep a close eye on it for when it snags. it's too bad because otherwise they loof and feel nice, but i'm looking for others to use instead.

Love Them
I've been using these hooks for years. I've tried others but I always come back to Boye. When working with bulky yarn or yarn that might split, the Boye hooks glide with ease keeping the splitting to a minimum. Great product!

The perfect crochet hooks
I have been crocheting now for over 40 years now. The Boye hooks just glide when crochet never had problems snagging. I have tried Susan Bates hooks and found they do not glide as I am crocheting the cooks seem to make the yarn seperate on the hooks. There is a totalling different result between both hooks I would totally recommend the Boye hooks over any other. Over all these are the best hooks I have ever tried.

Absolutely Fabulous!
MY BEST BUY EVER! Have both this set and the Susan Bates set. This one wins hands down! (Or on the hook?) Anyway, the aluminum hooks are smooth and so comfortable to use! My wrists don't get sore as they are prone to do because of a condition I have. And, I never have any problems grabbing yarn or with snagging! LOVE them and would recommend them to everyone! (Like one of the other reviewers said - could go to preference...but these hooks are longer but still light and I prefer the bulb end compared to the slit throat of the Bates set.)

New hooks are terrible
Greetings, I've crocheted for 45 years and still have my original Boye (Made in USA) hooks, multiples of some of them. I bought a full set of "NOT" made in USA Boye hooks to give to a beginner. Those hooks are horrible. They rip and tear the thread (steel hooks). I cannot recommend these new hooks to anyone. They are horrible. Please bring the manufacturing of our hooks back home. Made in the USA is the solution to this problem. Bring 'em back home, please.. ?

I took up crocheting again after 20+ years and pulled out an old hook (made in the USA) to begin re-learning the art. I only had a "g" on hand and my first project turned out too large. I picked this set up thinking they were similar and started using the "f". I even had trouble chaining on my first 141 chains with snagging. The first round found me frustrated enough to give up the whole idea of starting again. Didn't know if it was the yarn or needle but THESE NEEDLES HAVE BURR'S ON THE END OF THE HOOK TIP AND TEAR YOUR YARN UP (THEY'RE GOING BACK)

I've crocheted for years and these are great. I crochet fast and these never snag for me. I love the non-inline (bulb) heads and longer shaft compared to the Susan Bates (slit throat) ones. But it's all personal preference. My sister loves the inline (slit throat) ones but I love these. Could be I have large hands and hers are smaller. These are perfect for me!

Hooks for a Lifetime
These hooks are great! I've tried the plastic hooks and they broke right away! These hooks are a good price; I've been using the same hooks for 10 years and will have the same set in another 50. (the finish is a bit rough at first but gets very smooth after a small amount of crocheting).
