I'm a college student so I don't have a lot of extra money to spend, so I thought this set looked great. Unfortuntely, the head snapped off 20 rows into my new project! I will definitely be sticking with metal hooks.

I bought these around the time they restricted such items on the airplanes. These are pretty flimsy if you want to do anything that would need to be tight. OK for something loose or laceweight.

These were the first hooks I ever bought because I found an assortment for a great price...but then I learned why they're so inexpensive...they're CHEAP! They can't get me through 1 project without breaking. So I've been converting all of my hooks to metal. Waste of money!

Plastic Breaks

I bought these crochet hooks partially because I had previously used a plastic one and really liked the speed it offered my crochet. Plus the price was good. However, I've used 2 of them, and they both broke before I could even finish one project per hook. The plastic is simply not strong enough to be useful.

I bought a pack of these about a year ago when I first started crocheting. Almost all of the thinner ones snap. I get very frustrated when I am in the middle of a project and I have to stop because my hook broke in half. Good to start off with though, won't last long.

I bought the hooks because they are gorgeous and they make my crocheting experience wonderfully colorful. However, I have a tight stitch, so a couple broke. I would buy them again though, because they are pretty and cheap.

I crochet a lot and have a really tight stitch. These are not made for me. I have snapped every one of them in the pack I purchased an a few of the replacements. These are good if you have a lose stitch and don't use then heavily. If you crochet a lot, invest in something a bit more sturdy. Good for beginners.

I really love these. The shap of the hook part is better than any others I have used. It is very easy to grab the yarn because the end is pointy. The top, round part of the hook easily moved through smaller holes when needed. The only time I have broken any of these are when I have stepped on them. I use them quite a lot and they are great. I can't eally complain about them breaking because I was the one who left them out and then stepped on them. Not their fault!
