Great sweaters for shelter dogs

My go-to yarn for afghans
LOVE this yarn for both knit and crochet afghans! I am not big on acrylic yarns, I prefer something that breaths, but Dacor has enough wool in it to allow it to breath a bit. It holds it's shape and stitch definition beautifully after repeated washing (unlike Wool-ease, which looses its shape and stitch definition over time) and the colors do not fade.

Love this yarn!
Patonss Decor & Plymouth Encore are almost identical. I love both yarns to make many different things with. It is soft, actually looks like 100% wool when it's worked up & doesn't have the squeaky, weird feeling of all acrylic either. It is a little pricey though. I most often substitute Wool-Ease which is very similar because of the price. But I love the Decor colors much better.

Beware of dye lot changes!
I purchased this yarn to make an afghan. I bought the First Spring Variegated color. When I realized I would need 2 or 3 more skeins, I went to the store to buy more. (I went to 3 different stores). The color was completely different! It was more of a complete color change than a dye lot difference so beware if you buy this. Make sure you buy more than what you need. You can always return it! If I keep checking the stores, hopefully the yarn will have another color change and be the color I started with so I can finish my afghan!

I was using a bad crochet hook
I need to take back my bad review about the yarn splitting. I got a new crochet hook for this project that I never used before. Yesterday, I noticed a very sharp edge on the hook part. This was the cause of the yarn splitting -- it even split my acrylic yarn. I apologize for my mistake. This yarn is good quality. It was my horrible crochet hook that was the problem.
