Maybe those not so good reviews were people who got a defected product? I bought these and they work perfectly! It's a great product and I do recommend them to someone that is searching for these type of scissors.

TRY THIS......
I didn't read all of the reviews, but I wanted to put my two cents in here. Try using some wax paper for some reason my scissors get stuck and are hard to open but this seemed to help some.

VERY HARD TO OPEN & CLOSE
I have very strong hands and I agree, these are extremely hard to open and close. I may try some WD40...

TOO TIGHT TO OPEN
These are too fatigueing. I can not open more than three times without hurting my thumb, a permanent joint damage waiting to happen.

I use it to cut fabric samples for presentation boards. It cuts leather with no problem. It cuts with ease. I knew I would love this product because I own another pair of Fiskars shears and they cut great.
