Product Reviews:
I've had this machine for over 2 years...used it less than 10 times in that time frame. Everytime I use it I get so irritated I almost have a panic attack. It'll work fine for a little while, then out of nowhere it'll start jamming up. I grew up using sewing machines, took a college course on clothing design, and read the manual for this machine...I definitely understand how to use a machine. I wouldn't recommend this thing to anyone! Save your money and get something better.
back to productI have had 2 other sewing machines and this is the worse one. I have had it for about 18 months and used it only about a half dozen times and already it doesn't work. I've only used it a few times because it vibrates so much and doesn't sew on denim very well at all. The book doesn't tell you where to oil it or even if it should be oiled and now I can't raise or lower the needle at all. I also have had problems with the bobbin jamming and I am not a beginner when it comes to sewing. I wish I had spent a little extra money and bought a better machine. I always thought Singer was the best, but the Brother machines I had never gave me problems like this. I'm going back to Brother!
back to productI find it interesting how many problems people have had with this machine. If you follow the instructions (which bobbin to use, how to wind it, how to place it in the bobbin holder), one should not have any problems. I have 2 of these machines and they are simple to use and understand. I would highly reccommend that if you are having a problem, read the book. It helps.
back to productThis is my first personal sewing machine. I learned to sew on my mother's older Singer (1990's-not sure what model) and the mechanisms are extremely similar. The included DVD is very helpful as it gives you a visual as to how to fill a bobbin, thread the machine, thread the bobbin, etc. I had a few annoying bobbin issues but once I watched the DVD it made perfect sense and everything went smoothly. It's not going to be a machine for a higher-level sewer, but everyone's got to start somewhere, right? :) I have been VERY pleased with it so far.
back to productI have been sewing all my life and have used several different sewing machines, from the one my mom used when she got married 35 years ago to my sister-in-law's brand new Brother machine. I got this machine for Christmas, just spent 2 incredibly frustrating hours trying to get the bobbin pulled up and getting it sew a straight line without jamming. I am taking this in and getting the Brother machine my sister-in-law has. It is much better.
back to productmy grandmother bought this for me for my birthday because i am starting to sew clothes to sell... well it takeme 3hours to sew something that should take 1!! it is constantly breaking and messing up... the needle gets stuck with the bobbin... one day the needle shattered to pieces and flew all over the room and barley missed my eyes!!! crappy crappy crappy!!! worst sewing machine you can buy!!!!!!!!! spend the extra money to buy a better one!!!
back to productThis is my first sewing machine; I have had it for several weeks now, and I am really pleased with everything so far. I read a lot of reviews before I got it, and I noticed a lot of comments about the bobbin. My aunt has been sewing almost all her life, and she helped me thread everything correctly. I have had no problems at all. I am very happy with the machine. The only negative comment that I have is that the piece that holds the spool of thread seems a little flimsy, but maybe that does not matter.
back to productI have had this machine for a couple monthes now and I hate it. I hate the bobin. Don't wast your time.
