  • Caron® Simply Soft yarn:
    Contrast A: Berry Blue, 1 skein
    Contrast B: Watermelon, 1 skein
    Contrast C: White, 1 skein
    Note: 1 ball of A, B and C will make approximately 40 coasters

  • Size 8 knitting needles (or size needed to obtain gauge)

MEASUREMENT
Coaster: Approx 4 1/4" square.

Gauge
22 sts and 27 rows = 4" in pat

DIRECTIONS:

COASTER (make 3)
With A, cast on 20 sts.
Row 1: (WS). (K5. M1) 3 times. K5. 23 sts.

Proceed in pat as follows:
Row 1: (RS). With C, K6. *Sl1wyib. Sl1wyif. Sl1wyib. K5. Rep from * to last st. K1.
Row 2: With C, K2. P3. K1. *Sl1wyif. Sl1wyib. Sl1wyif. K1. P3. K1. Rep from * to last st. K1.
Row 3: With A, K2. *Sl1wyib. Sl1wyif. Sl1wyib. K5. Rep from * to last 5 sts. Sl1wyib. Sl1wyif. Sl1wyib. K2.
Row 4: With A, K2. *Sl1wyif. Sl1wyib. Sl1wyif. K1. P3. K1. Rep from * to last 5 sts. Sl1wyif. Sl1wyib. Sl1wyif. K2.
