I love, love, love these hooks. I had been looking for a hook without a thumb rest for quite some time. Not only that, but the hook had to be the Susan Bates style (inline) rather than the Boye style (tapered). These hooks fit the bill and I can't even tell you how happy I am. Susan Bates-type tip, no thumb rest, smooth plastic that allows the yarn to glide nicely without splitting, and no icy cold metal! :o) The only disappointing thing about them is that I can only find them online.
I have one of these and it is the best palstic hook I have ever had. So easy to hold and use. And I generally prefer aluminum.
I crochet a lot. I crochet FAST. These lightweight hooks are my favorite. Not only do they feel comfortable in my hand, they are smooth and glide through the yarn easily. I love how they are color coded too! Can't say enough nice comments about them.
When I first learned to crochet I tried every type of hook I could find that came in sizes I used and though some plastic hooks have a "seam" which catches the yarn and splits or frays it the lion brand did not and work as well as my favorite aluminum hook and is light weight and comfortable to hold for long periods of work as well Its my favorite plastic hook
My husband bought me the 6-hook set for Christmas last year - and I love them! The shape of the hook suits me perfectly, and the plastic is great. It's consistently warm to the touch, and doesn't get sticky like aluminum hooks often do. I like the fact that the hooks are smooth from tip to tail - it makes small Tunisian crochet items possible without having to buy a specialized hook. Thanks, Honey!
