Lion Brand Heartland Yarn is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 113.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Five Stars from a Yarn Snob I admit to being a yarn snob and usually shun anything but natural fibers. However, needing baby gifts, I was on the lookout for a soft and beautiful, machine-washable acrylic fiber. This stuff is a knock-out. The colors are rich and alive. (I've used sequoia, redwood, canyon, everglades, isle royal, and olympic.) The price is good for the yardage. Although others have mentioned splitting, I do knit by feel, and have had no trouble with that. (It's wise to have a variety of needles on hand as the type of needle used can greatly help with that.) I hope Lion Brand continues to make this yarn available. It's terrific.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Colors I bought about 8 skeins of different colors of this yarn for a mammoth project I was starting and I am loving the results. I tried to buy very different colors, and when combined they still look amazing together. The yarn is so soft and the feel is just what I was hoping for. I highly recommend it. The only issue I have is that several of the skeins have had parts where obviously the yarn broke and was knotted back together. I have seen this in every brand of yarn I buy so it's not a huge deal, but one of the skeins had 6 places where that happened. When working on smaller pieces such spots can really stick out, so I wasn't thrilled.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Head over heels in love Hi my name is Sash, and I am a yarn hoarder. I am the type to buy yarn almost every time I go shopping, cheap plastic type yarn, bulky, doily yarn, all kinds of yarn. Its the colors, I can't help it. And one day I came across the color called Glacier from this collection. This collection is amazing, its soft enough to make blankets, sweaters, scarfs, amigurumi's, almost anything. And its washable. I will admit I'm not good with the terminology when it comes to yarn, but as a stay at home mom with lots of time for crocheting, this collection is by far my favorite. I recommend it to everyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice yarn I really like this yarn. It doesn't have a lot of stretch to it so the stitch size stays pretty consistent. It is somewhat heavy, though not bulky. It's soft but holds shape pretty well. I made a small basket with it using a G7 hook and the basket came out stiff enough -- not floppy at all. The colors are gorgeous -- I have used Yosemite and also bought Sequoia and Everglades, which I will use soon. The yarn reminds me of Caron's Simply Soft; however, you won't find these beautiful colors in the SS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to work with and very soft yarn I wanted to try a new yarn and I liked the idea of these colors being named after our National Parks. The colors are vibrant and the yarn is so soft. It also works up into beautiful pieces. I also feel that the cost is quite reasonable, one skein goes a long way! I'm so glad I decided to try our this yarn

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gorgeous Colors! This very soft, ultra rich yarn is a dream to look at and hold. The only drawback is that it tends to split some while crocheting so you need to work carefully with your hook. That, however, doesn't stop me from ordering more and more! It is a thin 4-ply that works well with Pound of Love, Bernat Satins, and Caron brands. The slight sheen and richness of color make it pop in my currant motif throw project. It is a wonderful yarn! I'd love to see it in baby colors!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best shades Knits beautifully, although I prefer a #8 needle size to the suggested 9. Great variety of coordinated colors, feels so soft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving this yarn!! I bought this yarn because I had a store credit and it was on sale. I'm not sure I would have purchased this if it wasn't on sale, though. I am SO excited about this yarn and all of the colors it has to chose from, although, I would like to have a winter white or a cream color. I love the feel, the texture and the fact that it isn't splitting when I crochet with it. Let's keep our fingers crossed!!!!
