I love the colors and the striping. When I knit two skeins at the same time the stripes are more subtle. The one draw back is that this yarn is not soft or supple...is it is a little scratchy.
I found using this yarn makes wonderful scarfs. So far I have used the woodland, the ozark forest, the marble grey. They make a very interesting and fast scarf when you use two skiens at the same time and size 13mm needles. Two skiens, 22 stiches wide, knit two perl two and use four rows of the fur yarn doubled too, to start and end. Looks great looking and it is done in two days of TV time.
I was really disappointed to recieve 12 skeins (for an afghan) of Rainforest much lighter than pictured in either Joann's or Lionbrand's websites. I was hoping for a richer color to lay at the bottom of our white bedspread. Basically a muted version of the pictures shown. I've used this yarn before, and been pleased with quality/texture. I'll just have to deal with the color ...or lack of it!
This yarn makes an awesome scarf!! Now is the time to make Christmas gifts for next year!!
LOVE,LOVE,LOVE This yarn! Making Hats&Scarves for all 4 sister-in-laws&everything is turning out perfectly!! No problems what so ever. WILL USE THIS YARN AGAIN.
I was disappointed in how many joins the yarn had as well as inconsistency in the thickness of the yarn. I had to work harder to either incorporate all those joins and had to cut out where one color's thickness got so big and fuzzy. It is pretty yarn but not the quality I expected.
I made the Marble Cowl (free pattern on the Lion Brand website) love the color Wildfire, so soft when completed, and nice subtle striping. A little disappointed it doesn't hold it's shape well, and after first washing, did not bounce back. After first wear, it stretched out more so that a similar cowl made using Red Heart Soft. (see reviews there) will reconsider future uses for something that looks great with loose drape.
I agree with the other knitters - this is a great yarn! It is really soft with beautiful colors. I, too, would love to see more colors. You won't be sorry purchasing this yarn, especially when it's on sale.
