DIRECTIONS:

Cut:
Fabric A:
Two 6-1/2"x7-1/2" pieces for front & back

Fabric B:
Two 6-1/2"x7-1/2" pieces for front & back
One 3-1/2"x20-1/2" piece for sides & bottom
Four 3-1/2"x7-1/2" pieces for ruffles
Two 3-1/2"x24" pieces for straps

1. Draw line 1" in from each side on front & back.
2. Fold in 1/2" on the long sides of each strap, fold in half and topstitch both sides.
3. Place straps along the side lines of the front and back. Stitch in place, stopping 1-1/2" from top of bag. Reinforce corners of side/bottom piece with stay stitching to align with corners.
4. Hem tops and bottoms (long sides) of ruffles with 1/4" double turned hem. Sew gathering stitches and gather 1/2" from top edges.
5. Make 4 marks on each end of side/bottom piece, the first at 1" from end and the next three at 1-1/2" from the end.
6. Line up ruffles with these marks, alternating fabrics, and sew on at gathering line.
7. Stitch front to side/bottom catching ruffle edges in seams, while clipping and pivoting at corners. Repeat with back piece. Press seams toward sides.
8. Repeat for lining leaving an opening in the bottom for turning. With right sides together, stitch lining to bag top, keeping handles free. Turn right side out, press. Slipstitch opening in lining closed.
9. Edge stitch top of bag. Wrap ribbon around one handle and glue ends to the back of the wooden cut-out.
