STITCH EXPLANATIONS
Yarn over: Wrap yarn once around empty peg to inside of loom, then back to outside of loom to work next peg.

NOTES:
1. Follow loom manual instructions for single knitting for how to cast on, knit, purl and bind off.
2. Throw is worked back and forth in rows across loom. Loom is set up as an oval to accommodate the large number of stitches.
3. Use 2 strands of yarn held together throughout.
4. Throw is worked on the diagonal with increases made at the beginning of every row until work has been increased to 87 sts. Decreases are made on the second half of the throw at the beginning of every row until only 5 sts remain.
5. When working a knit row, work from left to right across the pegs. When working a purl row, work from right to left across the pegs.

Loom Configuration:
Use the following pieces: Two 28-hole semi-circular pieces, two 36-hole pieces, four 12-hole pieces, and four 6-hole pieces.
Connect pieces to form an oval as follows: 28-hole semi-circular piece > 12-hole piece > 12-hole piece > 6-hole piece > 6-hole piece > 12-hole piece > 12-hole piece > 6-hole piece > 6-hole piece > 28-hole semi-circular piece > 36-hole piece > 36-hole piece.

Beginning at one long side of loom, insert 87 large pegs in every other hole around the loom – 87 working pegs placed.

THROW:
Increasing Section
Holding 2 strands of yarn together, cast on to center 5 pegs, leaving 41 pegs on each side empty. Note: You should now be ready to work from left to right across the pegs.
Row 1: Knit across all working pegs.
Row 2: Purl 3, move each new loop just purled 1 peg to the right, yarn over onto the empty 4th peg, purl 2 – 6 pegs now hold loops.
Row 3: Knit 3, move each new loop 1 peg to the left, yarn over on the empty 4th peg, knit 3 – 7 pegs now hold loops.
Row 4: Purl 3, move each new loop 1 peg to the right, yarn over onto the empty 4th peg, purl to end of row – 1 more peg is holding a loop.
Row 5: Knit 3, move each new loop 1 peg to the left, yarn over on the empty 4th peg, knit to end of row – 1 more peg is holding a loop.
Repeat Rows 4 and 5 until increased to 87 sts, end with a knit row – a Row 5.

Decreasing Section
Join 2nd two balls of yarn. Work with 2 strands of yarn together.
Next Row: Purl 2, move next loop 1 peg to the left above existing loop – 2 loops on peg – purl both loops together, move each loop on first 2 pegs 1 peg to the left, move loop on 4th peg, following the p2tog, 1 peg to the left onto 5th peg, above existing loop – 2 loops on peg – yarn over onto empty peg, then purl the 2 loops on 5th peg together, purl to end of row – 1 less peg is holding a loop.
Next Row: Knit 2, move next loop 1 peg to the right over existing loop – 2 loops on peg – knit both loops together, move each loop on first 2 pegs 1 peg to the right, move loop on 4th peg, following the k2tog, 1 peg to the right onto 5th peg, above existing loop – 2 loops on peg – yarn over onto empty peg, then knit the 2 loops on 5th peg together, knit to end of row – 1 less peg is holding a loop.
Repeat the last 2 rows until only 5 sts remain.
Bind off.

FINISHING
