  • Quilt batting

MEASUREMENTS:
Approx 16 (22-34-40)" diameter

GAUGE:
6 dc and 3½ rows = 4" with 2 strands held tog and larger hook

Edging With 2 strands of yarn held tog and larger hook, ch 72 (102-170-200).
1st row: 1 dc in 4th ch from hook (counts as 2 dc). 1 dc in each ch to end of chain. Turn. 70 (100-168-198) dc.
2nd row: Ch 2 (counts as hdc). *Dcfp around next dc. Dcbp around next dc. Rep from * to last dc. 1 hdc in last dc. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 2 (counts as hdc). *Dcfp around next st. Dcbp around next st. Rep from * to last hdc. 1 hdc in last hdc. Turn. Rep last row until Edging measures approx 5 (5-6-7)". Do not fasten off. Join sides tog, working 1 row of sc through both thicknesses. Fasten off.

FINISHING:
Cut quilt batting to match outer measurement of Base. With WS of Base pieces tog and larger hook, join 2 strands of yarn held tog in any dc. Ch 1. Working through both thicknesses, work 1 sc in each dc around, stopping just past halfway point to place quilt batting inside Base. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off. Position Edging around outside edge of Base, stretching just slightly to fit. With larger hook, join 2 strands of yarn held tog with sl st to any sc around Base. Ch 1. Join Edging to Base, working 1 rnd of sc through both thicknesses. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

Button Cover
With 1 strand of yarn and smaller hook, ch 2.
1st rnd: 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st to first sc.
2nd rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. 16 sc.
3rd rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in first sc. 1 sc in next sc. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. 24 sc.
4th rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc.
