SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
DIRECTIONS:
- Black card stock
- Yellow yarn
- 6" decorative straws
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Glue gun & glue sticks
- 2" piece of cardboard (credit card or business card work great!)
- Paper trimmer - optional
DIRECTIONS:
- CAP
- Cut a 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" square from black card stock.
- Cut a 6" x 3/4" strip from black card stock.
- Make a circle from the 6" x 3/4" strip overlapping and gluing ends by 1/2".
- Glue circle to one side of 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" square.
- Cut a 6" decorative straw in half to 3".
- Glue 1 end of straw to the square, in the middle of circle. (This will be the part inserted in to cupcake.)
- TASSEL
- Wrap yarn around 2" piece of cardboard 10 times.
- Cut two 10" pieces of yarn.
- Slide a 10" piece of yarn under wrapped yarn and slide up to an edge. Tie around yarn tightly.
- Cut other edge of wrapped yarn. Double knot top.
- Tie other 10" piece of yarn around folded bunch of yarn, 1/2" down from knot. Double knot and trim excess.
- Cut tail to 1 1/2" and glue to top of hat.
