    TASSELS
  1. Cut a piece of cardboard 1" x 4".
Cut two lengths of thread approximately 5" long.
Place one 5" piece of cut thread along the top of the cardboard piece. This will become the top thread. Wrap the remaining thread around the 1" width of the cardboard piece and the top thread 30 times. Tie the cut thread tightly at the top of the looped thread and knot. Slide the piece off the cardboard.
Tie the remaining 5" piece around the looped threads near the knotted end. Wrap the thread around all of the looped thread a few times and knot tightly to secure.
Cut the loops at the bottom of the piece and trim to make them even.
Thread the remaining threads onto a needle and pull them through the tassel and cut to length.
  2. To make the ombre tassel earrings, create two tassels of each color. To make the white tassel earrings, create ten tassels with white thread.

  3. EARRINGS
  4. Cut a length of thread 12" long with the color of the top tassel. Thread one end through a needle. Pull the needle through the top of the bottom tassel halfway. Fold the thread in half and pull both ends through the needle.
  5. Pull the needle through the bottom of the next tassel up through the middle of the top of it. Repeat for all of the remaining tassels.
  6. Thread one half of the pull threads through the loop of a fishhook earring. Knot the thread twice. Thread the ends through the needle and pull through the top tassel and trim.
  7. Repeat to complete earring pair.
