    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easily Adds a Touch of Metallic Shine I was introduced to these rub on metallics at a gourd crafting workshop. They are easy to use — simply rub some on with your finger! They add a bit of glitz to painted surfaces. One note when using with gourd art: the metallic color seems to work best when you first spray your base color with a finish such as polyurethane. When the poly is dry, rub on the metallic color and then finish with another coat of polyurethane.
